Our current time frame for completing assessments, from booking to outcome and report, is under 2 weeks.

Our service is not suitable if any of the following statements apply to you, your child or the person you may be seeking an assessment for:

No access to a computer/laptop/tablet with at least a 10” screen that can be propped up, with a working webcam and microphone

No internet connection

Not willing to have your camera turned on for the assessment

Below the age of 7 years old

Are non-verbal or selectively mute

Have a visual or hearing impairment that would not allow communication with our clinicians

Unable to communicate at a conversational level in English

Have a significant intellectual disability or developmental delay (IQ must be higher than 70)
-
You are not currently under the care of a community mental health team and have not recently been discharged from a tier 4 service.

You are not experiencing a Psychiatric Emergency or any suicidal ideations

When I first started this journey i spent months if not years re-searching companies who off this service. I suffer CPTSD, Amxiety, Depression and now diagnosed with ADHD. Contacting MentalWell was easy, had a very quick appointment with the relevant specialist and the day arrived. I was nervous, shaking and almost never dialed in to the meeting, the specialist really put me at ease and guided me through the process, i am now a week into treatment and all is going well, even the 1st titration appointment and receipt of medication was smooth. I can not thank these guys enough - wish I had found them years ago. Oh and as for the PRICE - the 1st company i contacted who offered the same service was going to charge approx £6k for a 6 month package. thank you MentalWell

I have been so impressed with this company. From the first contact there has been first class communication. I requested a call back last Thursday as I had some questions following my decision to pursue a private ADHD assessment. I was called within hours by Daniel, who was so friendly and helpful and answered all my questions and concerns. He explained the different packages they offer and that they even do payment plans. I then decided to go ahead as Mentalwell's assessments fully meet NICE guidelines and include a thorough written report and options for ongoing support and medication titration and management if applicable. I was able to get a next day appointment for an assessment with a psychiatrist. I was then emailed several questionnaires to complete beforehand so that the assessor can get some background information on you and the issues you're experiencing. The assessment was done via a Zoom video call and Dr Timothy was very knowledgeable and allowed me to take my time in answering all the questions, even if I did go off track a few times! My assessment was very thorough and took 2.5 hours. At the end of the assessment I was given my diagnosis there and then which was a huge relief as I'm not good at waiting for things! I was then straight away able to book another appointment with the same doctor to discuss medication options. That appointment is today, only 3 days following my assessment and diagnosis. All in all, a fantastic service. I have already recommended them to someone else, who has their assessment booked in for tomorrow! If you're thinking about going privately for your ADHD assessment, I can't imagine a better service than Mentalwell. Thank you so much!

An excellent service easy booking and during my assessment Dr Timothy made me feel extremely comfortable as I was very nervous I highly recommend this service who quickly respond to any queries. I am not sure who I initially spoke to when I called up to enquire but they gave me so much information and guided me through what the process would be . Autism Assessment Process for Adults
We are committed to providing the highest quality of care through a comprehensive assessment that adheres to NICE guidelines. To ensure this, we utilise "gold standard" diagnostic tools, including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R. Our goal is to make the entire process as comfortable and stress-free as possible for you. To make the assessment process less daunting and complicated, we have outlined each step of the journey below, along with an explanation of what is required.
1. Pre Assessment Questionnaires
To be completed by yourself and an informant of your choosing. These forms help us gather as much information as possible to provide our clinicians with an insight into your daily life, experiences and difficulties. The informant is ideally someone who has known you since birth or early childhood to provide a historical context of your development. If this is not possible, the person should be someone who knows you best and has known you for the longest possible time, such as a long-term partner, sibling, or close friend. In the event that an informant is not available, you will act as your own informant and complete the informant questionnaire.
2. ADOS-2 Appointment
ADOS-2 stands for Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule. This is a gold standard diagnostic tool carried out by our Clinical Specialists. This appointment is attended by you; it is not a test, with no right or wrong answers. We will use this observation to explore your development, behaviours and difficulties in several key areas relevant to an autism diagnosis. These areas include how you communicate, share and pay attention, your imaginative thinking and restricted/repetitive behaviours.
3. ADI-R Appointment
An interview to be completed by your informant with one of our Clinical Specialists to discuss your early development, your difficulties and strengths both as a child and an adult, as well as a series of more specific questions regarding various behaviours associated with Autism. If you have chosen to be your own informant, you will complete this appointment.
4. Multi-Disciplinary Team Review
The Clinical Specialists involved in the assessment will work together to fully review all information gathered from each step, using the DSM-5 criteria to determine if there is sufficient evidence to meet the criteria for an autism diagnosis.
5. Feedback
An appointment with you and the lead Clinical Specialist to provide a full summary of the assessment and the agreed clinical outcome. You will be advised of any appropriate recommendations, strategies or interventions that may be suitable and will have time to ask any questions needed. Following this appointment, your full assessment report will be sent to you.
