Adult ADHD Assessments via the NHS Right-to-Choose pathway
Right-to-Choose

Mentalwell is an accredited provider for Adult ADHD assessments under the NHS Right-to-Choose scheme. Anyone living in England and registered with a GP has a legal right to choose their mental healthcare provider.
The Right-to-Choose process involves sending a referral request to your GP, who will review and may or may not agree to accept this referral. In cases where the referral is accepted, we will check that all requirements are met and confirm whether we can proceed with your assessment.

-
We offer fast access to care, helping you move forward without long waiting times.

Next Steps

1. Assessment
If your referral is accepted, you’ll be offered an assessment with a qualified psychiatrist. Our experienced clinicians deliver all assessments online following NICE guidelines and using gold-standard diagnostic tools. This will be followed by a summary letter outlining your diagnosis. If you’re diagnosed with ADHD and medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss treatment plan options with you.

2. Titration
When you begin treatment with us, a medication-onset appointment will be arranged. In this appointment, you will discuss with your clinician the various treatment options relevant to your needs and goals. Regular medication reviews, including updates, will follow to establish a suitable medication and dosage. We can prescribe ADHD medication where appropriate (only available following a Right-to-Choose ADHD assessment through us).

3. Shared Care
Once stable on treatment, our team will inform your GP practice. At this point, you will be discharged back to your GP, who will take over the ongoing prescribing and dispensing of your medication. We will continue to provide clinical oversight as part of the shared-care arrangement. If the GP declines shared care, we will continue to look after your medication needs.
