Our Autism Assessment Journey

Schedule an Assessment
Book your consultation at your own convenience using our online booking page. Simply choose an available slot, and that's it! A confirmation email will be on its way to you indicating the completion of the booking.
Please note that we require your consent to communicate with your GP. Our service does not cater to psychiatric emergencies or individuals experiencing suicidal ideations.

Pre-Appointment Preparation
Before your first appointment, you will receive an email with detailed information about what to expect and access to our portal. In the portal, you will be asked to fill out several questionnaires about your experience and medical history. This process typically takes up to an hour to complete.
Please complete and submit all required forms before your appointment so our clinicians can familiarise themselves with your needs and goals and provide the best service for you.

Appointment Day
In the email received immediately after booking your assessment, you will find a secure Zoom link to join the meeting at the time of your appointment. One of our clinicians will welcome you and guide you through the process, ensuring a simple and confidential assessment.
Please have a photo ID ready for identity verification. The appointment must occur within the United Kingdom.

First Appointment
-
For a child, the first appointment will be an interview with the parent/carer. The interview covers the patient's full developmental history across three core behavioural areas: Language and Communication, Reciprocal Social Interaction, and Restricted, Repetitive, and Stereotyped Behaviours and Interests.
-
For adults, the first appointment is a standardised, semi-structured observational assessment that engages the patient in a series of planned, age- and language-appropriate activities to elicit specific behaviours.

Second Appointment
-
For a child patient, the second appointment is a standardised, semi-structured observational assessment with the patient and their parent/carer. The patient will follow a series of planned, age-and language-appropriate activities. The clinician observes and codes the child's performance to look for impairments in communication skills, social interaction, and restricted and repetitive behaviours.
-
An adult's second appointment is an interview about their developmental history, conducted with an informant (family member, partner or long-time friend). If no informant is available, the interview will be with the patient.

Feedback Appointment
A full review of the gathered information is conducted by the clinicians assigned to the assessment, and an outcome is determined.
Following the review, a video consultation with the Lead Clinician and the patient (for adults) or the parent/carer (for children) will be arranged to review the developed report, explain the assessment outcome, and advise on recommendations and support for the patient.

Assessment Report
After the third and final appointment, the clinician's assessment report is reviewed internally before being shared with the patient as the assessment outcome.
The report includes the diagnostic conclusion and the clinical rationale on criteria met/not met. Additionally, the report indicates recommendations for adjustments and support that the patient can benefit from.
